Anyone using GPO in X1d?

Just curious because the Aria engine/player is giving me havoc after the x1d update.
Thanks very much,
Randy

It's working fine for me - but I didn't upgrade to the new version of Aria yet.  What problems are you having?  Did you upgrade to the new Aria?

Well actually it was initially Instant Orchestra I was having issues with and yes this is with the new 1.28 version of Aria.
This is what was happening (copy/pasted from the Garritan forum a couple of days ago):

I have 2 instances of IO, one Evolution 1 and the other, Earth Drums 2.
I can mess around in Piano Roll View (in Sonar X1) with one of them and lose sound on the other. I go to the individual instance and reload and then it plays fine...but only for a while, when I start to mess with one taking the focus off of the other then the one that loses focus has to be reloaded. To try to isolate the problem I loaded an instance of another VSTI (Dimension Pro) and it doesn't seem to have the problem.

So after even Randy Bowser couldn't come up with a solution I uninstalled reinstalled the Aria player/engine and now I get an error in X1 stating it wasn't installed correctly (after I rescanned vsti).
When I open the stand alone version there is nothing listed under "Ensembles".

I'm wondering if this could be dues to some junk leftovers in the registry that didn't give me a clean install(s)....if so it would be much appreciated if someone could tell me specifically how and what to do to get rid of it.
I'm planning on emailing support but just thought I'd give it one last shot here.

    Thanks very much,
    Randy

I've opened one X1c project in X1d to do some minor edits, but that's about it.  No problems with just that.

Was that with GPO or Instant Orchestra?

Ah... it was GPO, not the new Instant Orchestra.  It sounds it could be the new Aria player - I don't think GPO is at v1.28 yet?

GPO works fine with the new version it's just that there's no advantage to using it unless you're using IO (to take advantage of some of the controls such as vibrato etc)

I'm using GPO / GIO through Aria 1.28 with no issues so far.

However, I didn't try to replicate your issue.

    Thanks Dave,
If you do find yourself working with 2 separate instances of Aria with IO loaded in both, please let me know your results.
    Thanks again,

How do you like IO as opposed to GPO?  I've briefly read the information on Garritan's site (or Make Music or whatever :-p), but actual user feedback is often different.

Although I feel sure Garritan used some of the same patches from GPO in IO they are very different tools and for me IO was a must have. It got a bad rap right out of the gate because it sounded so good people accused it of being some kind of arranging Band-in-the-Box kinda software but it's not at all.
It will cut out some work for me because it layers patches that are controlled and mixed by the user.
The movements (in and out) of the layers are controlled with the mod wheel or expression pedal (to free up the left hand). I find it great for sketching out ideas and get a lot of (instant) gratification by just playing around with some simple chord structures...that said I will still use GPO in conjunction with IO.
Maybe you've already seen this link http://www.garritan.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=169&Itemid=171
but the first demo is done live (by Robert Davis) and should impress you...keep in mind that Robert is playing this live!
IO3 (7th from the top) is also very cool ( by our own Randy Bowser).
The really cool thing about IO is that within the Aria mixer there may be  8 or 9 instruments loaded in for a particular ensemble and you can mix those instruments (or mute) or I'm guessing (I haven't tried it yet) switch out different instruments on those tracks....a whole lotta controllable and versatile potential here I think.
Best $150 investment I've made in a long time...now if I can just get the damn thing to work again : )

I am a GPO4 user and have had no issues with it and X1D Expanded so far.  I would like to get IO at some point.  I am kind of hoping for a promotional sale of some kind.  I am really impressed with the demos at the Garritan web site.  They sound great, and I need all the help I can get.

Thanks, Randy.  I actually was on that page before, but for whatever reason didn't step through the demos.  That first live one is pretty impressive...    I also like the variety of FX that some of the other demos display... Very nice.

As Mack hinted I'll be waiting for a sale too.   $150 isn't bad at all for the download, but I'm all about saving $$ if I can.

Randy, I just created a project and loaded 2 instances of GIO and had no issues. If there's anything specific you'd like me to try try let me know.
