Anyone using MusicLab RealGuitar, RealStrat, and RealLPC 64-bit versions in X1 RIGHT NOW??
I see MusicLab has a $399 package deal until the end of August for RealGuitar, RealStrat, and RealLPC. So -- is anyone here successfully using all three of them right now with the latest 64-bit version of Sonar X1? I have the latest 64-bit version of X1 installed and working fine, but would like to hear of someone else successfully using all three MucisLab products right now before I take the $399 plunge! Yes, I have no guts -- I'd prefer for someone else to go first... ;-) -- Mark Blair

I have RealStrat and RealGuitar x64 versions working well with SONAR Producer (X1b build 255) x64. Sorry, I can't vouch for the RealLPC, as I don't have it. But I highly recommend RealStrat and RealGuitar, especially if you're not a guitar player. :)

Yes, I have all three here on X1b x64, and working wonderfully. Make sure you get the pattern library version. The only issue I had should not affect you, since you don't have the 32 bit version already installed. Because I originally had the 32 bit version, after installing the "updaters" to the latest version and add the 64 bit version, the pattern library seemed to dissappear. The pattern library is installed under something like C:\Program Files(x86)\Musiclab\Loops\ directory when you install the 32 bit version. With the 64 bit version, the install is under the 64bit C:\Program Files\Musiclab\Loops\ ... BUT the installer didn't put the files there - it was just an empty directory. It was easily fixed by copying the files over from the 32bit directory into the 64 bit one. At $399.00 it's a steal - I think I paid about double that, and it's a great package. Cheers - Cliff

I use RealGuitar and RealStrat every day. I will buy RealLPC--Just haven't gotten around to it yet. For the record, I also have Vir2 Acoustic Legends HD. I like it but RealGuitar will do 50x more. I have Vir2 Electri6ity. Lots of guitar sounds for the money, but RealStrat is much more usable. And nobody does strumming as well as MusicLab. I run X1 in 64-bit but I use 32-bit MusicLab with bitbridge. That's just how Sweetwater set up my system because at the time they (Sweetwater) were having issues with 64-bit plug-ins on my system. I know MusicLab has 64-bit installers now and they are an excellent company. You should be good. I have a couple of simple hints for using RealGuitar if you want to contact me later. I use it on almost every track. I used to play acoustic rhythm as a session player. I never even pick up a six-string now.

I use all 3 in 64-bit and they work fine. The trick is to use lower velocity than you normally would with midi instruments. There is a lot of expression in the guitars. great product.

Thanks to you alll for the excellent and informative replies! I guess I may now have the guts to purchase all 3 MusicLab products. Also, if anybody knows of any video demos of thier 3 guitar products that are on par with Jeff Abbott's demos on the MusicLab home page, I'd really appreciate it if you could pass along a link. I'm a pretty fair guitar player (bass, electric, and acoustic), but I think the MusicLab products (if I can find a few more tutorials) can probably do a better job. And konrad h, I may want to get back with you after I purchase the MusicLab package. I'm intrigued that a session guitar player could actually favor a plugin over a real guitar -- but I guess that speaks volumes about the potential of MusicLab's products. Anyway, I think I'll do this before their offer expires at the end of August...

Rnady, My hints are about how to set up a track easily to use RealGuitar, esp for strumming. I am happy to post here, but you would also need my little file that has an event list you can copy into a new project. Let me think about how to make that work here. Nothing earth-shattering, by the way--just a couple of little shortcuts.

I've been tempted to get RealGuitar because it's just so hard to mic a live acoustic and get it to sound good. The demo's I watched of RealGuitar (Acoustic) sound very good. I'm a guitar player and can pick up on a guitar done with midi a mile away, but if I wouldn't have seen the guy playing the keyboard in the video's, I never would have guessed it was a synth. For lead, I dunno how it would work, but for rhythm it's amazing.
