Anyone using Sonivox downloadable plugins?

I downloaded two trial version Sonivox downloadable VSTi plugins, one, the Taylor acoustic guitar (about $30), and the other, the Martin acoustic guitar (about $50). What are your opinions of these, if any? The Taylor version, in my opinion, sounds ok and has the harmonics patch which is cool and a couple of fingerpicking ones as well, but the Martin has, to me, a much more realistic sound. One concern I have is the internet authorization needed to make them work after buying them. My fear is, that once registered, what happens down the road if the company goes under. I use Adobe products which require a similar authorization, but they are a large company and I expect them to be around for a long time. I have had downloadable programs requiring internet authorization where the company did go out of business and I was left holding the bag, so to speak. Obviously, computer reformats and changing computers. Despite this form of copy protection, I'll probably go ahead and do one of them anyway. One last thing, the download for the Taylor version is about 88 MB while the Martin is about 400 MB. I worry about the CPU/disk load.

    Hi digimidi,

Being a guitar player I was curious to try these plug ins. Like you I found the Martin to be better than the Taylor. The acoustic bass one is nice as well. I play my own guitar but if I was looking for a module the Martin would really be of interest.

    Regards John

    Thanks for the response, John.

Like you, I am mainly a guitar player who has had to pick up other instruments to round out my recordings. Sometimes, I have a midi file or I create my own that I incorporate into a song and that's where I needed a convincing acoustic guitar sound. I'll probably go for the Martin VSTi.

    Cheers,

    Dave

Wow, are these plug-ins really that cheap? It almost seems a little too good to be true, am I missing something here? Now, I know they're a little bit of a one trick pony but still...
I keep a cheap electric around fo that rare time time when I need some quick power chords, but maybe this is a cheap solution.
