Anyone using a USB mic? Do they work with SPLAT?

I've been wondering since they updated the wasapi drivers if a USB mic would be handy and if anyone has any recommendations.

Might work a little better than before but why? For the same money you can get a mike with a proper XLR cable. That has 100x more uses than one with out. They are for pod casting and people who don't really care about good quality audio.

I have my studio mics and my desktop setup. But I also have a Surface Pro that would require an outboard interface when I'm on the road. I'm just curious if anyone has used this option so less gear is needed. I've seen a Rode NT-USB mic that's getting rave reviews. But I want studio quality for my recordings.
