The USB turntable I have (a cheapie $50 model) internally has the RIAA equalizer before it converts it to the USB output. Audacity came with the turntable, although I have other "recording" software I use for recordings such as this. I save all recordings as "full fidelity" wav files and then if I want something else such as an MP3 I do the conversion with Goldwave.
I've never tried Sonar for this but I suspect as noted there is no ASIO or WDM driver and the device would probably never be recognized.
