"Anyway"
This is one of my artists, im looking for a little feedback. I'm not looking for necessarily whether you think the artist is good or not. Looking for more technical feedback. It is rap, i know most of the people on this forum aren't much into that style. There is some harsh language, but not too much. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdZ6Flgn4XA Thank you Mix/Master purely done in Sonar Platinum and Sonar Plugins/effects

Hi Ryan, quite a bit of reverb on the vocals, but I think it works okay. Are you happy with the mix? Sounds okay to me, although I'm only listening on headphones so I can't tell if there is a nut too much bass. I'm also not familiar with the genre, so heavy bass may be an important feature. cheers andy

Yea it was sopposed to be rather reverby as if Ur in like a space setting. The beat wasn't really too much in my control as it was pre-mastered non-tracked out by another local instrumentalist the artists purchased it from. I did add the sound effects in the beginning, that pulsatting sound and the vocal effect of his radio talk tho.
Primarily in hip-hip, low end is the chase. They want a kick drum that blows speakers and a bass line that continously shakes Ur car to the point it falls apart. It takes quite a bit of work to reach a compromise the artist likes and trying to maintain some kind of quality.
Appreciate you taking a listen and for the feedback. Critisizing is only way to learn :). I usually dont use so much reverb this time was just to try to create a specific environment. I put the reverb on a bus then ran that thru a surround bus to try to set the reverb behind the vocal so it can still be clear. That was the intention anyway lol.

All in all, this is a clear recording, and I do like the reverb on the vocal. Typically, I'm used to hearing more bass from this style than what is represented here. I don't think this will rattle any cars apart, but that doesn't mean that it couldn't be made to do so. That being said, it's easier to say than do.

Appreciate the feedback. My bass answer was just in response to his feedback on the baSs. This song wasn't a standard hip hop style I didn't intend for Alot of bass however that's just my opinion which is why I look for feedback :) lol. Didn't have much of a drum track to begin with. It was more of almost completely synth based instrumental.
I however had no control over the recording. Most of my artist send me their projects thru drop box/Google drive etc...as some others might have dealt with, I'm usually stuck with what I'm given.
Appreciate your thoughts

I've had a few listens, I'm really not qualified to give that technical feedback, especially this genre and this piece is even unusual for the genre I would say. I found the piece very artistic, melodic, unique and provocative. From my humble pedestrian ear, it sounds like his producer rose to the occasion, congrats. I really enjoyed.
