Appreciation for backups

I had an issue enter into my system somehow.  I suspect it had something to do with a Windows update, which was recent.  Nothing else had changed or been installed otherwise.

Anyway, something was wonky and I could tell I wasn't going to get it sorted.

So, I took the plunge and restored the entire hard disk environment from my most recent Acronis backup.

A few hours later (after everything restored through), I was back.  Everything worked just as before.  Everything is fine.

I'm very appreciative of Acronis and having the backup strategy.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Got all your projects on an external backup drive as well?
    Just sayin'...
I never install anything without burning an image first.

I am off line with my DAW... no backups ever..... since the day I installed the OS to the new blank hard drive.

I do use back up procedures to several disks.

I need to get better with back ups.  My DAW is kind of the family computer, even though everyone in the family also has a laptop.  I installed a new OS and a new 2T HD a few months ago and backed up everything at that time.  I have done an excellent job of keeping the kids from down loading a bunch of junk on this system, but it's a matter of time before someone slips around me and messes something up.
