Archived tracks and UAD-2 not working properly

In my experience archived tracks in Sonar are supposed to be completely ignored and not processed, meaning also that FX on that track would not be processed and would not take up CPU. This appears to be true for all plugs EXCEPT for UAD-2 plugins. I still have to go and bypass the bin on an archived track to get the UAD-2 plugins on that track to stop using UAD DSP processing power.

This is with Sonar 8.5.3 for me. Can anyone confirm what happens in X1?

This is with real-time playback specifically but also true of bouncing to track, bouncing to clip, apply audio FX, etc.

I archive using the "A" button or Right Click on a track and choose MSR->Archive.

FWIW The DSP Load Lock setting on the UAD Control Panel appears irrelevant to this. I see the problem whether it is turned on or off.

    Peace,

I don't normally archive or freeze tracks, but i checked X1b and
the only way (bypass works as well) to get the UAD DSP released is to
freeze the track. From my memory, that is the way it has always been dating back
to the very earliest versions of SONAR. FWIW, that goes for every
other UAD compatible DAW host app that has a freeze mechanism, as well.

    Cheers,
