Archived tracks : why do we stil see them on VS 700 C !!!???
I would love to have an option to select the "display" feature on the vs 700c like we do on the console view for exemple ... During the pre mix stage i bounce track to get only audio but i keep midi folders and archive them but i hate to see them again on the vs 700 c !!!!!!!

Zo, Go to "Preferences / Control Surfaces / Control Strips Visible in" and select "Console View". Any hidden track will disappear from the VS700C. Control Strips Visible in SONAR allows control surfaces to display all channel strips in a project, or only the channel strips that are visible in the Track view or Console view. The options are as follows: - Track View. The controller/surface matches the channel strips that are visible in the Track view.
- Console View. The controller/surface matches the channel strips that are visible in the Console view.
- All Strips. The controller/surface shows all channel strips in the project.
Mind you, I just discovered a problem / bug: the ACT button will get 'confused' by hidden strips i.e. if strip #3 is hidden and you select strip #4 and press ACT, it will try to control plugins in strip #3 ... I didn't realize that before because I usually move tracks that are only backups to the bottom of the strip/track list ...

Now that I'm aware of this problem, it's actually quite annoying because it also applies to the ProChannel control i.e. with hidden strips, the SEL button activates wrong ProChannel sections. Previously I did attribute this to a buggy ProChannel control, but yesterday I realized that it's changing the settings of the neighbor strip, which is not sooooo good. Anyway, this is X1d. I still need to test it on X2, but my fear is that it will be the same there ...

Yeah played around last night a little with this and then the penny dropped, yes I am a bit slow. They've set it up really to only work (part) sensibly in Console View like Bertl indicated in red. That is then ok to get around when you are selecting pro channel but if you use folders that are not expanded, it's a royal pain obviously or you just don't use Console View like me..until I am now forced to of course. They just haven't used much with the 700 or don't care I guess coz it is clearly a poor implementation. I couldn't easily for example start adjusting EQ without clicking the EQ screen on/off for the selected channel using the mouse. The Channel Control section will lose the display until you bring the EQ (or effect etc) into focus by selecting it with the mouse.... this is one of the major pains IMO as it clunks your workflow and seems poor.... do you guys have a quicker way in place of using the mouse to get control? Also the help file says to use the EQ button to cycle through the Pro Channel inserts but as we know that is still broken.... Surely this is worth them addressing by now do you think? Is it worth bombing them with more bug reports and the like do you think? Cheers all.

I did drop 2 bombs on that subject last week, I suggest you'd do the same. Maybe that brings more attention to the control surface integration fixes. Mind you, those reports were 1 day apart and got #12511 and #12618 assigned. So it looks like (roughly) 4 bombs/hr detonating. I wonder if they have a person assigned just to sorting those reports out ...
