Are Intel stock coolers any good?

Hi,
 
I'm about to embark on an i7 spending spree and am trying to keep the costs manageable to begin with, so I've given up on my dream of an SSD for the OS and I'm now looking at CPU coolers to stricke off the list.
 
My question is, on a regularly clocked 920 will the stock Intel cooler be sufficient?
 
I obviously don't want things getting too toasty but Intel wouldn't supply them if they didn't work, would they?

I always replace the stock coolers with quieter units.  Beware that most of the newer coolers for the i7's won't fit in the old standard cases as they are too tall.  Many of the newer cases are wider but check dimensions.
