Are the V-700R being discontinued?

I see less and less dealers re-stocking them to making them special orders now. What's the deal with the V-700R audio interface? Some dealers still have leftover stock but a few places no longer have them. I also noticed Cakewalk have just about disappeared from this V-700 forum.

From what I know, the vs700R lack some features they added on the Octa-capture, the ARX is obsolete and the Fantom is not worth 1000$ more (compared to the OC) for many users...

Also, maybe a new VS system for X1 is in the making, or maybe hardware is completely left to Roland and no more "software integration solution" plans at all.

As you said it look like they will... hey wait.... I've said this 2 -3 times already in previous threads! Not very fair from Cake if it is the case.... they swore, last year, it  would not be discontinued any time soon....

    Time will tell...

It's still advertised for sale in several publications.

It's still a good bit of kit, just in need of updating since X1... don't see any better options out there or I would have jumped. If anything they may develop a new hardware option to get around unflexible design issues.

    ASUS H270, i7-7700, JLM BA & 1290, LA2A Opto4, loads of guff.

    I'm too negative sorry.

Probably because it's my first AWESOME (and expensive...) piece of gear and that's why I'm wishing it could drive my car, cook meals, wash my clothes and do whatever it is not designed to.... You're right telling there's no better options for the money, still nowaday. I'm absolutely amazed bythe results I'm getting with this system!

You're right too CRG, all major sellers still have them as special order, as it was since its introduction.

Everybody nowadays expects a plug and play peice of equipment right out of the box. In my opinion with the complicated media that is involved, you can't get much closer to plug and play than the VS700 system. Granted, it's not a totally seamless peice of equipment across all DAW platforms but that's due to the advanced abilitys built into it for the Sonar platform. We would all like a controller that we can change around any of the controls and functions on to conform to our idea of how it should be but that's a pipe dream in reality. I have three different keyboard controllers from the same company, while they all operate on same principles, they are all different in the order they work. It's a limitation of hardware design that is inherent in every peice of equipment.
