Art Of The Heart

After 3 years with no writing, I've completed my first song in X1 (what a difference from Sonar 5!).

Very nice Dan. I enjoyed this piece and a +1 on the arrangement. Needless to say (but I will), you should be writing more with X1.

"After 3 years with no writing, I've completed my first song in X1"

    Feels good doesn't it? :-)

I didn't think I had any left in me, and then one just popped out? :-) As Martha Stewart would say, "it's a good thing."

I enjoyed your song, and the recording was great. I like the way the Pads played off of the piano, the piano gave me a Bruce Hornsby vibe which is good, like Mandolin Rain?  (I'm going to jump from 8.3 Pro to X2, here's to hoping for a soft landing...)

Yes, it does. But I stopped because my old DAW died and there were a few other priorities. Real life gets in the way of creativity sometimes.

I bought Sonar Power X1 and it really helped me adjust quickly to X1. Thanks for the kind words on the piano. I must have been thinking of Bruce when I was working on this.

I quit for about 20 years, just playing coffe houses, etc and got back into recording about 2008.  It is a great feeling.  I write with Mark Cline now and it is a gas!  This did keep me very interested.  Instrumentals don't always do that.  It built nicely.  Do you do all instrumentals or do you write with vocals.  Did I tell you I really like this song, instrumentals and mix?  Well, I am now!!

    Warren,

Thanks for listening! I stopped writing songs with vocals when I learned that I can't sing back when I was 17, ha ha. I only write instrumentals now. I've thought about trying to sing again, but I think my wife would kill me, or think I killed a cat!

    Glad you enjoyed the song.
