Artifact free multi-track quantizing - Video - AudioSnap

Figured this might help-out others like myself that didn't realize this functionality was under the hood..

Thanks Eric. I've been trying to use Audiosnap for years with no luck. I'll be trying this process later today. Very good job of explaining your process.

Another step you might want to add to your process is to first use Remove Silence on the reference track(s) to gate out any noise that can cause Audiosnap to mislocate transient markers. Otherwise, you can end up quantizing clip start times that don't accurately represent the actual drum hits.

I noticed a little of this going on in your video when you were zoomed in briefly. Look at the start of the highlighted clip at 7:07 in the video. The clip is quantized to 6:03:480, but the kick is a about 30 ticks late, whereas the next one at 6:04:480 looks good because the transient marker was right.

I have found it best to trim the front of the clip. And place the first note at the beginning of a measure.

Some times have had to split the clip many times to adjust alignment. And snap each clip.

And: AS is still much easier to user in 8,5.

No doubt, you can "clean" the audio before detection if it's an issue. Or just simply double check/adjust the transient detection markers before (adding to clip pool/separating). It's spot-on majority of the time. I've personally stopped fussing about it & only correct if it's audibly unpleasant.

Thanks again, Eric.  Any information on AudioSnap is welcome.  I must admit, that I have never been able to master AudioSnap.  I wish Cakewalk would produce one of their Master's Class on AudioSnap and start from the very beginning all the way to the end using a more simple example.  I think that Cakewalk users are ready, and have been ready, for this!

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left...
