Arturia B3 V revisited.

The problem with GAS is you can get too much and completely overlook feature or even whole items in a bundle. I have just been playing around with Arturia’s B3 V which is part of the V collection. This is a decent Hammond organ emulation but not one I would use as my go to, I gravitate towards VB3 or NI’s Vintage Organs.
 
I had dismissed some of the sound design options as gimmicky but further inspection has shown the modulation feature to be very nice indeed. One can set up ten modulations which can be LFO’s step sequences or multi node envelopes. Each of these modulators can be used to modulate the relative positions of each of the drawbars, the amount and polarity of the modulation can be set for each drawbar. What you get is something that still sounds like a Hammond but has harmonic movement. Not authentic but it can be very musical.
 
Further to this I am particularly fond of the Farifisa transistor organ in the V collection, this one goes above and beyond and the original with its user wave function which uses additive synthesis to create new wave forms and give the organ unique tones, add the effects etc and it has some great sounds.

Absolutely, the Synclavier V is worth the upgrade price by it's self.

+1 on those VKFX. They work wonders on keys.

Another nice feature of the Farifisa V is the "knee lever" that is controlled by after touch, its only implemented on some patches but it works well!
