Arturia V Collection 4...a few days left to decide
I've been offered, as many have, a discounted rate of $99 for the V 4 collection for the next few days. I own a couple of synths and 2 drum machines. Several of the included synths interest me...not the least of which is the Matrix 12. Anybody have this collection that could give me a thumbs up or down??

I picked it up just the other day. I had been waiting for the sale. I have had since version 2 came out Moog Modular V. Arturia has this modeling thing down pat. SOS did a review of it way back when and their test confirmed what my ears heard. The V collection is a huge steal at its original price. On sale its a no brainer.

I struggled with temptation at the $199 sale price. I kept reminding myself that I do fairly traditional pop/rock, so I don't use a lot of synths in my production. Then someone at KVR marketplace was offering their Arturia collection for $100, and I caved! I've rationalized the purchase by saying it was mainly for Spark2, as I didn't have a drum machine before that.

I bet that deal will roll around again. I bought Sylenth so I should spend time with that. I can also get Ultra Analog for $49. So I'm trying to pass on the Classic collection for $69.

I picked up the Korg collection. I don't think I need this one as well. I was toying with the idea till I heard the interface is a real PITA to deal with.

Picked it up for $69 due to owning a couple of their iPad apps, and so far I think it's a great product. Even at $99 it's a steal, I say. I'd go for it without hesitation.

Well worth it ~ Plus, if you decide to take the plunge with a Native Instruments S-series keyboard (or the latest version of Maschine), the Arturia V collection is NKS-ready. AWESOME integration with NI's Komplete Kontrol system!!

Now that I've got it my problem is I want to download it at home where I've got speedy Internet and install at work. Apparently this is problematic with Arturia. Dern!

There's an offline install option I believe. And you can have the Collection installed and activated on 5 computers concurrently. I really like the install process, it's quite straightforward. TerraSin, it seems JRR might be able to make you a similar offer. Edith says: down to $167 or so. That's more or less $10 per instrument.

Damn! On the one hand, the stock market is dropping like rotten apples. On the other, I can get five synths, at least two of which I really want, for under 70 bucks. I simple cannot afford not to do this, right? Somebody please tell me this is so.

Had it for a while. Superb collection of some classic synths. For $99 (or even $199) it's well worth it.

At that price (I got the same deal since I'm a previous registered user), you can't go wrong. No point in agonizing over the decision... Just put it in the cart and buy it. You'll regret it if you don't...

Welp...I'm letting it download and install at the studio as I type. With the kind of interweb speed we have down there it should be finished by Memorial Day.

As I routinely tell my wife, "just because its on sale doesn't mean we can afford it." She has a weakness for "buy one get one free" deals. As a result, we end up with not just one, but two of these "things" we didn't need. I went through a similar scenario during the holiday deals when XLN had a sweet deal on ADT packs. I felt I absolutely couldn't pass on such an amazing offer, but then I remembered that Id only made It through maybe a quarter of the drum sounds I already have (between Maschine, Battery, EZ Drummer, Session Drummer, etc). Cheap or not, money is money. I forced myself to let the deal drift away untouched. Can someone help my down from my soapbox now, I think Im done.

Got it all downloaded, installed and activated. Have to say this is one heck of a bargain. A bakers dozen instruments, all top notch and all excellent emus of great vintage synths. Think I'm more than covered for synths now.

+1 on the Arturia Collection. I haven't recorded anything in Sonar for a week as I've just been noodling through the synths, And yes, Spark2 is really quite impressive, but I've not worked out how some of the sample songs appear to get multiple different pitches on many of the samples yet. I paid 199 EUR as a new user, but it's almost worth it just to watch (and find!) the extra panels flip out :)
Wood Studio One 3 Pro, (Sonar Platinum), Intel i7, Win10 Pro, 32Gb ram, RME Babyface Pro, Behringer X-Touch, Presonus Faderport, Akai MPK49, Arturia KeyLab25, KRK Rokit 5 monitors, and other sonic surprises.
