Arturia V5 Collection...

I've got the V4 but I'm thinking about upgrading to the V5 Collection while I can get it for $99.  One thing I'd like to know is how many gigs...if any...of room will I need over and above my V4 collection?  And another...is V5 that much better??

Your thoughts?

I'm thinking the same, YOP, but at a much lower upgrade price.
Thing is, if you have V4, you already have the upgraded Analog Lab 2.
Play around with that and you'll see/hear the differences.
As for your V4 instruments, you'll be able to scale the GUI but some of them won't look as real as they do in V4. Then again, you get to keep V4 when you upgrade.
But I guess the new instruments are the ones to look out for, primarily the Synclavier.
Meanwhile, do check out that Analog Lab 2, it has all those newbies lined up for you.

I believe the bulk of the install goes in C:\ProgramData\Arturia. I have both V4 and 5 installed. That folder uses about 9GB. I will let you do the math to figure out the difference. The ability to change UI size was important to me. It is also why V5 is much larger than V4.

IMHO Its worth $99 for the Synclavier alone which is rather wonderful. I was suprised to find myself using the Hammond when I have options like VB3 but the ability modulate the drawbars is rather cool. The Farifisa is kinda nice too with some added under the hood features like the ability to create your own waveforms which takes it beyond the "also ran" transistor organ.

But the large GIUs are a major improvment for the existing instruments, particulary the Modular V and ARP.
