There is a curious mystery surrounding this product's introduction. People naturally made comparisons between the Arturia product and the Martinic Combo V organ because the latter is also an excellent emulation but it's free, versus a hundred bucks for Arturia's. But the Combo V mysteriously vanished from its author's website at the same time that Arturia's Vox product was released. He has offered no explanation for dropping it. He still offers his equally good Farfisa emulation, but the Vox is gone (still available through other sources, though). You have to wonder whether Arturia forced him to drop the Combo V, and if so, on what possible legal grounds. The Martinic Combo V doesn't call itself a Vox emulation outright, although it's quite clear that's what it is.

I have to say I really can't see how Arturia could force him to drop his product - perhaps they paid him to drop it!! Let's hope so, although the fact it's no longer available is a shame. I have Martinic V and have used it pretty often, that's why I was intrigued by the Arturia release - and Arturia are offering owners of some of their other products (I have a few of the synth emulations, ARP / Jupiter / Moog which I think are some of the best about) a discount of the introductions price which makes it $79. Has anyone tried the Arturia yet or listened to the demo - I had a listen and thought it sounded really good and would offer more than the Martinic, well as it should being as its a paid for product!! Any thoughts?? Nigel

aries I downloaded Martinic Combo V organ two days ago from the website:- http://www.martinic.com/combof/
Yup, that's the Farfisa, not the Vox. Maybe if Arturia decides to emulate the Farfisa next, that one will disappear too. At any rate, the instrument is still available through other sources and the author hasn't attempted to prohibit it. But I'd recommend getting them both now just in case.

Mystery solved. Somebody who purchased the Arturia product noticed that the About Box listed Theo Niessink as one of the developers. Theo is the creator of the Martinic Combo V. It would appear that he found a way to monetize his efforts through a collaboration with Arturia.

I could only find the Farfisa, not the Vox. All the links I've found take me back to the martini site. @
https://soundcloud.com/a-pleasure-dome http://www.bnoir-film.com/ there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

Shame they didn't bring him onboard to make something new, and that he hasn't left his freebie available, but hey, I still have what he did give for free :-)

Grab the Model V while you can, it's excellent. Just make sure you're downloading the last revision (1.33, dated December 2013), as some of the archived copies out there are older.
