As requested....

Some who were kind enough to help me out recently requested that I post a song using
what was donated to me (and I am VERY GREATLY APPRECIATIVE to my Forum Family)

I'll post the product when it's finished also...as, there's a lot more to do yet...just
thought I'd give a preview...

https://soundcloud.com/cclarry/baby-blue-instrumental-version

I'm posting it here, as it was the ones from this part of the forum that were so kind...

Thanks for listening...hope you enjoy!

Great .... just don't use the rimshot , it's killing te softy of the song  if you want to bring (as i think) some kinda of smoothness and some silky ....the drums has to support that and not grab the attention ;)

Zo, it's a Country Ballad....maybe pull back a little...but the rimshot is what I
want to stand out.  That's a hallmark Country thing...LOL

My parents are both from Kentucky...and, as the song goes
"I was raised on Country Sunshine" and music...LOL

I play Rock myself...but this is my first "Country" song...

Its sounding good. I would eq the organ/piano. HPF 100hz, boost 1,000hz +2.5 db and a little boost at 4,000 hz.
I get the feeling everything is a bit on the muddy side. You did ask what I thought, I hope?

Since it's a work in progress I'll just say you need to (eventually) tighten up the EQ on the bass. Too boomy IMO.

Great start.

It's rare for me to click on the Soundcloud play button and for it to actually play here, it worked on your tune for some reason. Really nice sounding raw timbres there IMO. I think your are correct, you'll be needing that Orangetree lap steel soundset if you plan to tackle that genre.
Mix sounds OK here without hearing it through Arc2 or VRM box. I liked the sound of the bass, perhaps a tad too loud in volume or needs a speaker sim of some sort, that audiffex bass speaker plug should do the trick IMO. Drums sound like they will fit into place nicely once the room is worked out. Just a bit up front in the face IMO, understandable for just being raw tracks.
Good stuff Larry from another old metal head that likes exploring other genres

Soothing. How about add a rhythm guitar and mix the piano lower...
