Asio4all panel does not show

Hi,

I recently upgraded from Sonar Producer 7 to X1.
In version X1 the Asio panel will not show after pressing the Asio panel button, so I cannot choose the proper drivers
In version 7 it works o.k.
I'm using Sonar 32 bits on a Windows 7 64 bit system and Asio4All v 2.10 and all programs, including Asio4all run as administrator.

Any idea what could be the problem?

Regards,
Piet

Why are you using ASIO4ALL? Use the ASIO driver that came with your soundcard or use WDM.

    what soundcard are you using?

even in eariler versions of sonar sometimes the ASIO button would not bring up the ASIO driver GUI panel regardless of using ASIO4ALL or native ASIO drivers.  I experienced that with my delta 44.

    Hi Dave, Beagle,

I don't really remember why I was using Asio4all, it was a few years ago when I was struggling as usual to get a stable configuration.
    I guess Asio4all worked best.
In x1 I started out using the WDM drivers, but again I had some crashes or freezes, so I resorted to Asio4all again.
Also tried the Wasapi drivers, but this caused a horrible crash when rewinding.
I'm using a Line 6 Toneport UX2 for Sonar and a Esi U24XL. I'm only using the driver of the Toneport. The U24XL is used for master recording.

But Piet, have you ever tried ASIO-drivers as suggeted above? ASIO4ALL is not ASIO. The ASIO-drivers made specificly for your soundcard should work best.

I've noticed that sometimes the ASIO panel opens behind the SONAR-window. So when I minimize the SONAR-view, the ASIO-panel is visible.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

    Hi,

No need to waste time if there's another solution.
For now I have uninstalled Asio4All and am using the Toneport UX2 Asio driver.
At first glance it seems to work smoothly.

    Best regards,
    Piet
