Asus A8V Deluxe - IRQ clash
I'm running Sonar 5.0.1 under Windows XP Home (SP2) on an Asus A8V Deluxe based system (AMD X2 4800 with 2Gb memory). As I use a Motu 828 MkII, I installed a TI chipset PCI card (in PCI slot 4 - second from the bottom) as the Motu didn't like the VIA chipset firewire interface on the motherboard. The IRQ of the new TI chipset firewire is 19 and it is not shared. The VIA chipset firewire uses IRQ 16 and shares it with the AGP ATI graphics card.
I'd like to be able to reconfigure the system and move the VIA IRQ to an unused IRQ so that there is no possible interference with the AGP graphics card and therefore the system's performance.
Is that possible, as the VIA firewire interface is on the motherboard?
Obviously disabling the VIA firewire interface in the BIOS is one possibility and would stop contention. I'd prefer to keep the VIA firewire interface as it provides me with a port at the front of the PC for backups to an external hard drive. There doesn't, however, seem to be any way to change the IRQ setting on the VIA firewire interface.
Any system configurator gurus about?
TIA
