"At Your Door"

Here's my newest one I wrote and recorded over last weekend. Let me know how the mix translates sonically... As always ANY feedback is greatly appreciated.

AT YOUR DOOR

I can feel the day breaking all around me now
I won't stand in its way I always let it pass somehow
It's gonna take me along wherever I hope I may roam
and it won't be wrong shrouded in a dull hazy gloam

I won't fight against time
There's just no fighting against time
You gotta go wherever the river shall flow
just don't ever think you're controlling it

You can get away there's life outside your little town
You'll find a way and be running when you hit the ground
You can't take me along some things you must do alone
but I'll leave you a song at midnight somewhere down the road

Don't you fight against time
there's just no fighting against time
You gottta know you get what you deserve
but I'd never leave it all at your door

yeah you gotta know we all get what we deserve
some of us get more

Great stuff again Mike. Enjoyed it very much. Mood-wise, seems defeatist, shrug your shoulders, que sera sera type attitude, fits nicely into the swing. I think the mix could be a little bit louder, seems soft compared to some other songs I was listening to. What are you using for drums? If there's one thing I'd critique a bit on your songs, the drums seem a bit weak. Hey, but if that's a midi module, I certainly understand, going through the same struggle with midi drums myself. Wouldn't it be great to have a real live drummer on a live kit! Haha, but my neighbors would probably evict me! Good stuff Mike.

you know what man the drums are smart loops and they are the biggest problem I have. Putting them together is easy enough but getting them to sound "real" even though they are "real loops" has been like the bane of my existence. If anybody has any tips for processing the smart loops with GT3 PLEASE let me know. Other than that thanks man.
