At last!
We went through biometrics last October and my wife got her approval early January but mine was delayed - seems a clerk made an error. But it's all been rectified and, as of this morning: Documents are in the mail. :) Meaning I'll finally be able to work legally and, uh travel (not that I like to travel, mind you. I could never leave this house again and be happy).

Maybe best not to publish your work history to date. Homeland Security has been known to use internet postings of people saying that they once smoked pot etc. to deny them entry without any corroboration, arrest or charges ever having been filed. http://stopthedrugwar.org...rder_blues_canada_us_b

I actually have absolutely nothing to hide in this regard - I've been following the rules to the letter. May sound really boring and uptight - especially for a musician - but I honestly believe that if not for the people who think that the rules don't apply to them, the world would be a much better place. And as of today, I guess I could work, legally, though my wife and I are still in the process of planning things and I'm in no hurry.

Come on down to Dixie and I'll make you a stiff martini and a rare filet with shrimp in dark roux over cheese grits and such. Maybe even a Karo-Nut pie!!

Congrats on being able to go to work! (Probably the first time I've ever used that phrase...)
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

I sure hope I don't have to go anywhere - except maybe for a few live gigs w/ my wife and our band. I do have the luxury of not being had-pressed to come up with something profitable at once, so I'll be looking for gigs I can do at home, working on demos for singers and such... I'll expand my horizons as I go. Obviously, in an ideal world, I'd be writing jingles, music for films and events and such - and I already have a couple of possible options. But I'm not dead set one one thing, as one needs to be flexible in this business. I will complete the audition kit for Cirque as soon as I get my acoustic, since I am in Vegas and there may be opportunities, but my wife said she would prefer that I don't get a full-time gig on a Cirque show, due to conflicting schedules. Being together is more important.
