Attacked by Lightning

So, I was minding my own business when I saw this news item.  http://www.ksla.com/story/22847659/lightning-strikes-woman-inside-houma-supermarket

Yeah.  Lightning struck a woman standing in the checkout aisle inside a store.  Apparently, some of us just need to be taken out faster.  Always one to do my part to help, I'm standing outside holding onto a lightning rod with one foot in a metal bucket full of water.  Here's hoping...

It's either a direct message to that woman or an indirect message to all that shop at Houma.

Years ago I was pre riding a mountain bike racing course the day before the race.

A vicious storm kicked up and we were on a mountain ridge so we ended up borrowing some dry space in someones barn.

About half way through the storm 3 other guys pulled in to the barn for the same reason.

One guy was pale and he looked pretty shook up.

I thought I'd break the ice with some introductions by asking "Hey, what's up; you get hit by lightning?"

The pale guy looks at me with the thousand yard stare and utters "Yes"

    Awkward. :-)

I suppose that might be better than hailing taxi cabs and having one fall on you...

She probably was in the express lane and had more than 12 items.

No angel in Heaven would ever harm real becan! (now if it were "soy becan" or some other sacrilege that would be different)

I hear it was instantly fried and a dog appeared out of nowhere and took it.

I've had a few VERY close encounters with lightning before, but the attacks by thunder are the ones I don't talk about...
