Audio Drop Out Issues

Hello.  I am a bit perplexed.  I am using an M-audio Octa Capture as my main audio device.  I also have a Line Six Firehawk and when I want to use it I have to switch my devices in Sonar.

Question # 1:  How come I can't select my Firehawk (ASIO) for input drivers and my Octa-Capture for output drivers?

I recorded once with the Firehawk as both input and output and it worked fine, but now I am getting an Audio Drop Out message.  My buffer size is set to small (using the ASIO Panel button).

Question # 2: If I can't have a different input than my output, how do I remedy the Audio Drop Out error?

Thanks.

The ASIO spec restricts hosts to one I/O driver at a time.
