Audio Ease Altiverb 7

Does anyone have the Altiverb 7, and if so, what are your thoughts other than it being pricey?

Thanks!

Brian

    Brian,

I tried the demo a few years ago (IIRC v6 / SONAR 8.5) & had problems with zipper noise when using tempo changes. Very nice software though.
Not sure if it would occur using X2 or V7.
Don't know what you intend on using it for but FWIW I'm now using VSL's MIR & VE Pro5 which I like very much for orchestral work.
You might want to check that out too, needs a licenser though.

Last I heard, Altiverb 7 wasn't yet available for PC.  I'm sure it's great, though.

    Cheers,

I'm glad you said that. I was in the middle of a purchase before I read it's Mac only. What a let-down. Macs are going to see another decline in popularity in the near future. They're still too pricey, and Apple seems to have little to no interest in continuing heavier use support, favoring the mobile and light-weight use markets. Just look at the new Mac Pro. Perfect example of how badly Apple wants to distance itself from 3rd parties.

I've been waiting for it to be out for windows for a long time and finally i bought Quantum Leap Spaces and i love it and use it for everything. It was $300 but when it went to $150 i bought it. I would still buy Altiverb 7 if it come out for windows though!

Oh crap! I thought this thread meant that V7 had been released for windows

I was addicted to Altiverb for years and love it! But v6 is 32-bit only and buggy as hell on my system with Sonar X1 and X2. I have hardly used it the past two years. And Altiverb 7 doesn't seem to show up anytime soon. I dunno what to make of it. I used it not only for music, but for Film/TV sound as well and miss it a lot! Their IR library is fantastic! But I have more or less gotten it out of my workflow now. A shame really... thinking of it now, I don't want to stop using it! I hope they bring out a 64-bit version for Windows ASAP!

Oh BTW - I've worked with v7 on a Mac based PT system and it's really, really good! IMHO the best IR plug out there

Tell you what. I'll see if I can persuade Audio Ease to make Altiverb for Windows.
