Audio Engine Drop Out - Story
Hi all,
I thought that I would share a very recent experience I had with audio dropouts.
I had just bounced down my latest composition, which amounted to some 29 tracks of audio, so nothing to big. On pressing play my disk load shot into the red and the audio constantly dropped out, couldn't even play 2 seconds of audio.
Now my machine is quiet high end and it really puzzled me as to what could be causing it and I started to play with the ASIO buffer sizes but to no avail. I then ran the wonderful Latency Monitor App, which highlighted an issue with the graphics driver. I downloaded the latest NVIDIA drivers, installed them, and bingo everything is back to normal and hard page faults in Latency Monitor went away also.
What lesson you may take away from this is that if you experience faults don't always blame poor Sonar
, it could be a driver issue so check these are always up to date.
