Audio Engine no longer engages on one project

Hi folks, I'm hoping someone can help with this, I have one particular Sonar Platinum project that has stopped playing, the transport will rewind and fast forward but stop is greyed out and play doesn't respond. This happened after I exported the audio and made a mix, saved the project and exited the program. There are about 30 tracks,  with an average of 2 plug ins per track. Other projects play fine, I am puzzled. I did download some Real Plugins, a couple of Voxengo plugins and a TDR Notelnikov and everything worked until I shut it down and rebooted.

I am running Sonar Platinum on windows 8
i7 4790 @ 3.6ghz
8 Gig Ram 64-bit system

Help is much appreciated. Thanks you!

Hi, and welcome to this forum. Try opening the project in safe mode (hold Shift while opening project). This will bypass all plugins, to see if they are the culprit. You can choose which plugins are bypassed. I would try with the Real plugins first, as I have both Voxengo and Tokyo Dawn Labs plugs, and use them without issues. Hope it helps.
    All the best.

^^^ Try Zargg's suggestion first. That'll tell you if it's just excessive latency causing the audio engine to give up, which it does if dropouts are too long in duration. You could just have your buffers set too low. But if the problem persists even with plugins bypassed, then you need to look at DPC latency using LatencyMon.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Also check that the Master bus output is not set to "None".
