Audio Levels In Track View Showing 0.0+, Also Not Showing Correct Pan Settings.
Hello everyone, I was working on a project yesterday and when I shut down the program, everything was fine: I had the correct audio and pan levels showing up in both track and console view. When I went to work on my project this morning, however, it was showing 0.0+ in the track and console views, pan+ in the console view and C+ in the track view. It's clear, though, from the peaks that the audio and pan levels are still set to what I had them at, it's just not showing them for some reason I'm not aware of. About the only solution I can think of at the moment is to transfer everything over into a new project, however the scale of this project would make that a rather large setback. If there's a way to get the meters to show the correct levels, I would much appreciate it if someone could provide some insight. If you need to see the issue yourself, I've prepared a screenshot of the console view, and could provide one of the track view if desired. http://img171.imageshack....71/5528/meterissue.png Lastly, I'm running Sonar 7 Producer Edition. If any other information is required, I'll provide it as best I can. Thank you all for your time in advance, -RM_1

I'm confused... the levels look right to me. Track 2 is set to -3.6 and that's where the fader is. Did you turn automation on or off by accident? Its been a long time since I've used Sonar 7.

Apologies for the confusion, when I started working on it this morning, I figured I would try to work with it, so that being at -3.6 is from those attempts. Track one is a prime example of the issue: you can see that it says 0.0+, and peaks at -20. The peak is roughly where my level was at when I stopped working on it yesterday. Typically, it doesn't have that plus sign after it, it usually only shows the negative sign or nothing at all if the levels are positive. As for automation, I'm not entirely sure where I would go to find out if it's on or off. I've looked around a bit myself, and one of the only things I've found concerning automation is "automation write," which I can't say I'm familiar with, but I did notice it reset the faders back to where they were yesterday. The only issue is that it makes envelopes when I start playing the project. The other is "automation read" which states that it's enabled and doesn't appear to do anything if it's disabled. Here is a more accurate screenshot. This time, I've taken it while playing it all back so that the pan issue is shown, as well. http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/7584/meter2.png Here is another of the same tracks with the automation write option selected so that you can see the comparison in levels of what should be shown and what is being shown. http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/3122/meter2b.png Apologies again for the confusion and thank you for your time.

You may have inadvertently hit " O " as in OH ( not zero ), which puts the faders in offset mode the clue is the + sign.

I love it when there's a simple solution to a problem. It would appear that pressing "o" reverted everything back to the normal levels I was previously seeing. Thank you very much for the suggestion, Alexoosthoek, and thank you Rbh, for further clarification. I've definitely never heard of offset mode before, so it'll be interesting to look further into that. Thank you all for your time, take care and I hope you all have a nice day.

I've never found a use for Offset mode, though others here use it all the time and swear by it.

Offset is basically for " Offsetting " automation data after the fact. So, if you want to raise the level of a track after your automation has been tweaked relative to your other mix tracks. You don't have to further tweak or re-write your automation. Just offset it. It is different than using the trim controls in that trim will affect how your signals hit the effects and aux's. It's relative to the fader only.
