Audio Output stops when External MIDI sync is used

Sonar 7 (7.01 update) Home Studio.
When I run the Sonar from the internal sync mode I get the audio output from the realtek speaker (analogue) out. I run this into a Roland 2400CD. But, when I use the MIDI sync (using the correct frame rate) from the Roland Master the Sonar starts and send out the MIDI data to the Korg Triton - No problems.
The Audio though shows no output at all when running in MIDI sync mode.
This just started. Never had the problem before. I did load the 7.01 update - that may just be coincidental. Any Ideas????

    Welcome to the forum.
So that configuration worked fine until you installed the update?
The only thing I could find related to this in the help files (Music Creator 6) is that when using MIDI sync, the program waits for a signal from the device before playback begins.

"If the Now time is advancing but you don’t hear any sound, see Troubleshooting. If you are using MIDI sync or syncing to MIDI time code, Music Creator waits to receive external timing data before it begins playing."

    Thanks Greg for your thoughts.
Just to clarify. the Now time in Sonar does advance when I run the MIDI input (from the Roland Master). The MIDI information from the Sonar tracks is sent out as the time line moves, in sync, with the Roland. But the audio tracks show no output. However, if I switch the sync over in Sonar to the "internal clock", the Audio tracks are seen and heard at the output. I hope that makes it a little clearer.

that's a very odd problem - and shouldn't happen at all that way.  I don't have SHS7, so I can't verify that behavior.  but if MIDI is being sent, the timeline is running then audio output should not be affected by which clock you're using.

when you are set to MIDI sync - what are your track outputs showing?  do they still show the realtek?

I don't know about Home Studio 7, but in older versions of Home Studio, Sonar had to be the master clock. Using an external clock as the master was reserved for Sonar Studio and Producer.
