Audio Pyro ate my file

This forum also just ate the last message that I tried to post here. A wonderful introduction to this fine product.

I had a short test clip that I made to test my Edirol. I imported it, saved it on the editor, saved it as an MP3. It plays and everything is fine.

Now, I have a rehearsal of a new song that we're working on. I import that. I save as to convert it to an mp3. Instead the short clip I did earlier is what is converted. This file shouldn't be open. I guess I should have suspected a problem when 'saving as' there was no title and I needed to fill one in. But that's ok. I try again. The same thing.

I press play on the editor to check, and yup, the song we worked on is still open and playing. So I do a simple save. OK now that R09_0004 is saved, I 'save as' to convert it to an MP3. Nope. Still the same short clip is converted for the 3rd time. As it is, I need to close the editor and come back to it in a while. Only guess what. My R09_0004 file no longer exists when I re-open the editor nor does it turn up when I search my computer. And since it seemed I needed to import that file from the Edirol to convert it in the first place, it is no longer on there either. Oh joy. Everyone's time wasted and I have to tell them that thing we were working on no longer exists so I hope they all remember what they did this morning. They're going to love that.

Can anyone help me find the file that I saved?

Audio Creator will continue adding songs to the project, creating one large compilation, unless you go to FILE | NEW first.
To break up the long recording into individual tracks, you can add Markers in the Editor by pressing F11 or right-clicking on the time line and choosing "Insert Marker." You can also name these markers using Artist and Album info if you plan on exporting MP3 files later.

If you're burning an Audio CD from the recording, go to File | Save As - WAV. Now check "Add to Audio CD Track List" and "Use Track Markers as Indicators." Make sure the export sample rate and bit depth are 44.1k and 16bit. This should allow you to burn the CD with multiple tracks.

If you're creating separate MP3s from the recording, you have 2 options:

    1) Go to File | Save As - MP3. Now check "Use Track Markers as Indicators." This with export a separate MP3 file for each marker. Make sure you have a marker at the beginning of the project as well. You will need to enter the ID tag info of each file when prompted.
    2) Go to File | Save As - WAV. Check "Use Track Markers as Indicators." Once the files are exported, open the Encoder module, set up an MP3 preset, click the "Naming" tab and set up your file names and/or check the option to import directly into iTunes. Now drag and drop all of the files onto it
