Audio Recording

I have a problem recording audio in Sonar Plat.  When I record audio I get a pulsating or dull click through out the composition.  Also a high pitch hum which I removed by editing in Adobe Audition.  But the first problem just started, but the last or hum has been with me for awhile.  I checked all my cables and switched with other cables and no problem.  Checked my Pc3x outputs no problem.  Then I recorded into Audition and it recorded beautifully. I don't think it could be my sound card if I got a great recording.  Any suggestion as to the what to do next.

Hi. What soundcard do you have? And which driver mode do you use? Could there be an issue with bit depth or sample rate between SONAR and your Pc3x?
All the best.

Hello Ken,
I am using Sound Blaster Audigy. Recording Master is through: Line In.  Audio Driver 16 Bit.  Sampling 44100.
In  Playback & Recording:
Drive Mode: Wasapi.    Dithering: Triangular.
Hope that helps.

I solved my problem.  Under Playback & Recording, I changed Driver Mode from Wasapi to WMD/KS. Also I checked
under Driver Settings: 64 bit Double Precision Engine.

Records great now.

I don't know if modern Audigy units have the problem, but older soundblasters used EMU chips that worked natively at 48 kHz.  Recording at 44.1 was downsampled realtime and that would introduce ... artifacts. I still have some old vinyl I dumped to digital with clicks in it.
