Audio Scrub Tool Stuck on

In the staff view I often use the audio scrub tool to listen to my score.  (By pressing J.)  After using it a while it often gets stuck on.  I don't know what makes it get into that mode, and worse, I don't know how to get out of it other than shutting down sonar and bringing it up again.

Using Sonar X2, build 306 - x64.  Windows 7.

Scrub is broken for me both in X2a and X3e.

Online help (X2 or X3):
To scrub a single track
Hold down the J key to temporarily enable Scrub mode and drag over the track.
To scrub all displayed tracks
Hold down the J key to temporarily enable Scrub mode and drag in the Time Ruler.
Note: The Scrub tool is invoked by pressing the J key. There is no Scrub tool button in the Control Bar or Tools HUD

In both X2 and X3 on my floortop, if I hit and let go "J", scrub immediately turns on stays on.
There's then no way to turn it off.  So there's no way to "temporarily enable Scrub mode".

On my laptop X2, scrub paints now time lines all over the place.

Scrub sounds and behaves better in X3 than X2.

I'd like to hear how scrub behaves on other people's systems.

Try clicking on the smart tool icon or F5 to clear it.
I never understood why there isn't an icon on the control bar or tools HUD, seems like an oversight.
Cheers...

I haven't been using the scrub tool much. I got out of the habit when it used to crash often. That was a few versions ago though.

Interesting.  Clicking the smart tool does indeed clear it.

In both X2a and X3e :  I just noticed that if I press J, drag the mouse and realease the mouse it works as it should, the scrub turns off when I then release J.  If I release J before releasing the mouse, scrub often remains on.

Just hitting J and releasing J, no mouse, scrub will immediately stick on.

Thanks Alex for the fix.
