Audio clip shrinks when dragged

I have an audio clip I want to move but when I drag it, it shrinks. I've tried Copy/Paste but the same thing happens. I've looked for changes in the Meter/Key but there are none. If I make the clip into a loop everything is fine. Can anyone explain what's happening there? Thanks - rev

Open Tempo View to see if there are any tempo changes in the project.  The timeline ruler displays each beat the same width, so the width of an audio clip can vary relative to the timeline if the tempo is not constant.

Kev: Tempo View: I thought of that too but the problem was that only one of the tracks in the project shrank. You can't have tempo change on just one track. I solved it by Copying all the data to a new file and Pasting it into the correct place so I never found out what the cause was. I think it must have been a unique property of that clip, otherwise all clips would be affected. Thanks for your response. rev
