Audio cursor not keeping up with music playback

I installed Sonar 6 on a new, much faster PC.  When I play an audio file, the playback cursor doesnt keep up with the music playback.  When the audio is finished playing, the cursor is only about halfway to the end of the track.  How can I make the cursor keep up with the playback?
