Audio editing

How does one trim the dead sound from the front or end of an audio track?

I imported a 4 minute WMA file into a Music Creator Pro project as a “track” and need to get rid of the first few empty seconds before I attempt to apply a tempo to it. I’d like for the track to start at 1:01:000.

I’ve looked for an hour in the Tutorials and the Help System for the answer to my simple question and still have no idea.

Highlight the track, place cursor at point of removal right click on track, click split, say yes to split at that point box, the highlight the part to remove and delete it

Thanks, Robomusic. I got rid of the dead-air lead-in. Now my problem (which I researched, honest) is how to make the start of the sound MBT 1:01:000 instead of the Now Time it was before I eliminated the dead-air part of the track. The track still starts 4:02:034 measures before the sound begins.

Most of the documentation about changing the Now Time seems to be about moving it around to different places in the project, not establishing a new 1:01:000--and getting rid of the first four+ empty measures.

Why not click and drag as mentioned in the HELP FILE "Moving and Copying Clips "

This is also covered in the tutorials. Have you done them yet?

Yeah, what MB said - click on the split track and drag it over until it starts where you want it.

To millerbill and bargainboy1, thanks very much, I got the result I needed.

I can see it's going to take me awhile to get proficient in Music Creator's language. Sort of like English.
