Audio engine dropping

small frustration, when i export  file to .wav and close sonar to listen to it in windows media player, then i re-open Sonar, the audio engine won't engage...have to reboot. Is there an easier way to re-engage the engine in Sonar without a reboot?

It seems like something isnt letting you share the sound card drivers

What card do you have? And is your share drivers with other programs checked in the in the options > global section of sonar.
Im able to play both at the very same time, so it can be done. It could depend on your sound card and the settings in your pc though.

There's a button on the toolbar the stops and starts the engine. That's normally all you need to do.

Does it make a difference if you close WMP first, before opening SONAR?

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Thanks CJ, i'm actually using Presonous FP10. I will check those driver binding options and see if that does the trick. Again, many thanks, you seem to be the "first responder" to my posts...i guess i shouls be paying you a maintenance fee...

I saw that button Flip, but haven't tried it yet. seems like the most logical first attempt though. Regarding close WM first, nope, no difference, actually either way. Question, have you moved to 8.5 and if so, do you recommend the move from 8.0?

LOL, Thanks. For your other post, Wait until Cakewalk announces deals (if they havent already) on upgrading to 8.5. Because the next version is around the corner. Wait for the deal that says, upgrade to 8.5 and get 9.0 free..
