When you split a clip, SONAR creates a slip-edited copy of the entire clip for each slice. Do that for every beat, on 8 tracks, and additionally have Audiosnap enabled on every clip, and that creates a ton of data for SONAR to keep track of.
What you'll want to do it disable Audiosnap on all the clips after slicing, and use Apply Trimming to render the slicing permanent.
Obviously you'll want to do this on copies of the tracks, and archive the originals.
