Audio tansients: handles move, but note wave forms

I've just started trying to quantize audio.  When I select the Audio Transient tab, I get the "handles", and some will move the wave forms back and forth, but mostly I get no change - visually or sound wise.  I've tried changing the threshold, but this didn't help.  The wave forms have clear handles to grab, and big wave forms, but most won't move.  It seems like when I experimented a little in the past I was able to move most of them - as long as they had a handle...?

Are you certain they are enabled? They should be with the threshold turned all the way up and I think if they aren't they'll snap back to where they were but it is worth a look. In the manual there is a section that shows the different transient marker statuses. That probably isn't the issue if they have actual handles but it's worth a second look.

The other thing that might be happening and it does not seem to be clear in your posts... are the markers moving at all or are they stuck in place? If they are stuck this might mean there are other markers in the way (enabled or disabled). You cannot move one marker past another even if the other one is disabled. If this is the case you have to zoom in and enable the other markers (select the marker > right click > Disable*), move them out of the way using the diamond instead of the handle (this will move the marker without stretching the audio), then disable the marker again.

*A weird thing about the transient right click menu is an enabled marker will have a checkmark beside the Disable option which can be confusing so just click that until the marker is disabled/enabled. It becomes clear how it works after a few tries. User enabled markers will show a solid diamond as opposed to the auto generated ones that show an empty diamond.

Other than that it could be that audiosnap is just being buggy and not working properly. It is extremely finicky so if all else fails try doing it in a different project. I've had a project get completely corrupted because of audiosnap after a ton of work. It sucked.

Thanks for the good info.  I've played around a little with what you've said, but don't know of anything I changed yet.  You know how when you take your car to the mechanic and it won't make the noise?  Right now all the wave forms are moving as they should - and I haven't been able to do that until now!  Anyway, thanks!  And I'll continue to work on (when I can get back to it - too much travel!) this and let you know.

You can't move them past one another but other than that they should move but sometimes hit an invisible wall.

Are you aware of the different moving options too? If you click on the diamond and move it, the audio marker moves position relative to the audio (ie if it 'guessed' the transient incorrectly - you correct it) but if you click the vertical line and drag it, you can manually quantitate that node.

My gut feeling is its not a bug, but you just need to get a feel for how it all works. It can be a little tricky at first. Some folks here I think simply refuse to use it because it just never makes sense to how they like to work. I personally think its great and don't have any major concerns with it at all. You just need to learn it and understand its limitations. Like pitch correction, your safest bet is to always do plenty of manual work. It's time consuming, but you can't always trust auto. To clarify, I use the quantitate feature, but always pre check my nodes (that they got the transient right) and post check that it quantized properly.

Give it time and you'll master it

Thanks again for all the good, detailed info.  I'll be hitting it hard this week-ed.
