Audio to MIDI conversion All 1 Note

I have an audio clip of myself humming. When I move the audio clip to a MIDI clip, that ARA process converts it to MIDI, with all the notes, but they are all the same note. Somehow the change in notes up and down the scale gets lost in translation. Any idea why?

    Hi, and welcome to this forum. Melodyne is likely set to percussive algorithm. Right click on your Audio clip, go to Region Fx and choose Melodyne, and Create Region FX. Under algorithm, choose Melodic.

     
     
    Drag and drop your Audio clip to a MIDI track, and you should see the melody mirrored.

    Hi, and welcome to this forum. Melodyne is likely set to percussive algorithm. Right click on your Audio clip, go to Region Fx and choose Melodyne, and Create Region FX. Under algorithm, choose Melodic.

    Audio to MIDI conversion using either method relies on Melodyne to do the conversion. The reason to open Melodyne this time is to change the algorithm to one other than Percussive. Percussive does not recognize pitch.

    Thanks. It works. Sort of...I'm trying to hum or sing or whistle in a clip, and the pitches are often off ands I have to adjust. Should I not expect much accuracy? Or is there any way to input audio better? Like staccato?

    The accuracy depends a lot on the quality or "density" of the sound. Like distorted guitar versus clean. Melodyne might have difficulties with Tom Waits but none with Kate Bush :o/
