Audio track playing in the wrong place

Has anyone experienced audio tracks playing in the wrong place.  For instance, out of no where, a harmony part or a completely wrong part of the song will just jump in and start playing.  I have been trying to figure out what is going on.  If I export the file it is fine.  This is happening with not just one file, but all that I have tried.

If this a computer setting that I can change?

All help is much appreciated.
Thanks

I find that if you have Melodyne (or possibly even other Region FX) active, you can't really skip around without stopping playback or the audio will be all over the place till you do stop/start. Is that maybe the situation? It seems Melodyne accesses its audio a lot slower than the rest of the DAW.

It is also possible that Broadcast Wave Files are being imported per the embedded timestamp information in the clips themselves.

I believe the default option, in Preferences, is to import audio per that embedded timestamp info.

Not sure of your exact condition, but it is easy enough to look in Preferences at that setting.

Enabling 'Set Now Time With Full Restart' in Track View Options might help with that.

Yes I had it. Was working on vocal take lines. Some clips did jump in couple measures too early. Had to stop/start playback to get them in right place the next time.

Possible I had few small Melodyne regions in the project.

    Sonar Plat latest, Win7 32-bit

Adjusting something in preferences to get rid of it would be the easiest... Any more thoughts?

i am not sure what you mean by stop/start.  I always stop by hitting the spacebar, and then start again by hitting the space bar.  Do you mean stop the audio engine?  The only things that seems to work is waiting a while, and if that doesn't work, then I have to restart the program, and sometimes the computer.

I never ever had these problems before, and I used Melodyne a lot.  Is this anything to do with BandLands new versions.  It is getting almost impossible to use this program anymore.  I hate to think about changing over to Protools or something else.  I am also having huge problems with midi.  When I split a midi tack, and try to record the track as audio it just records silence.

I did a mixdown and I noticed that the one of the midi tracks was not playing the way it had during the mixing.  Sometimes the midi track won't play.  Very frustrating.  So I decided to try the split track feature, but as I said I get nothing.

    Thanks for any input.

Yeh. this has been an issue for me with Meloydyne too, for maybe the last year? Was ok before, but it was when we ran into trouble, then they finally fixed it, but this was a result of the fix. cant work on the fly anymore, have to stop, wait, then restart, or everything's out of wack. Not sure if this what you are describing however. Things just appearing when not expected is not something I've come across. Not with audio anyway.

So I guess there is no fix other than to stop playback and then restart.  I wonder why I never had this problem before.  Is this problem also in the older version of Sonar before Bandland took over?
