Audio-Cut

Hello,

I try to make an Storytelling-Book. So I make a audio record. Sometimes there are parts, I want to cut out.
I take the "cut" Tool, cut the Parts, and then I erase it. After this, I have to move the Part to close the space.

My Question is if you can erase and the free space will filled with the Part on the right, so that there is no space between the cutted Parts?

The other thing is; when I see that I maybe forgot a part and have to cut him after the whole track is full of small parts, so i have to move all of them back. So, that they ALL move so, that there is no space.
The last question is maybe not so important, because i surely can select the whole part on the right and move them at once. But if Sonar make no space after erase, it is much easier..

One thing at last: Because it is no Beat, I shut off the "Snap On" Grid. So it is possible, that there a little free space between tracks, or go over it.
Is there  thing, to "Snap On Audiopart", so that it snap on the point, where the Audio-Part ends/begin?

Thanks

You can use the Cut Special on Edit menu - and check delete hole option.

OK, it works.. As I try it the first time, it seems to do nothing.. So I thought, there must be something else.. :D

But it is very boring always move to the menu and chose "delete special" and say OK to the dialog (or press enter).. Dosn't look like there be a shortcut :(

    But it works.
With "Bounce to clip" i can "glue" the Parts back to one, so i find the answer to my next question on my own :D
    Thanks for help

I used two unassigned keys in assigning shortcuts.

    Alt-X to Cut Special
    Alt-C to Copy Special

or if you prefer also can be put on Custom Control Bar command buttons - you save one click at least compared to opening a menu first.

There also some good information in help on the subject Insert Time - there is also about Delete too. The need for this things pop up every now and then.

You can create your own shortcut for the delete special dialog in Preferences > Customization > Keyboard Shortcuts Global Area search for delete.
