AudioSnap Online processing causing pop sounds

I have recently started encountering a problem where using AudioSnap is creating a poping sound.  This is not a dropout or high volume issue.  The sound is rather like the static pop that happens when a microphone is touched with a spark.  It repeats at about quarter note intervals.   It seems to come up randomly in audio tracks that have had an AudioSnap adjustment (either from quantizing or from setting the clip to follow the project).

This is not a computer or sound card performance problem.  This is a simple project with three audio tracks and one instance of Session Drummer 3 and a single MIDI track for it and the computer is more than up to the task (4X AMD 2.5Ghz 8Gb).

These are simple audio tracks recorded at 44.1 and 24 bits.  There are no audio effects in the signal chain outside of the Pro Channel compressor and EQ.  I originally thought it may have been an issue with Guitar Rig 5, but have deleted all audio effects and even started new projects and recreated on freshly recorded tracks.

The popping disappears if AudioSnap is disabled on the track or if I freeze the track.  This leads me to believe that it is an issue with the (Grove-Clip) on-line rendering.  I have tried changing to the percussion rendering and it happens with this setting as well.

Any ideas what to look for to address this? It seems to have worked for what I'm trying on Windows 7 and X1 (x64), but I'm running Windows 8 and X2A (x64) now.

Change your logarithm for real time processing in audio snap. If it stops when you freeze it, then its the logarithm being used before it renders the audio. This could be a a sound card driver setting issue also, since it goes away after freezing it

Generally accepted wisdom for Audiosnap is to bounce to clip when you've finished editing.

Bouncing uses a different algorithm to the real time one and you will notice a difference in quality

If you just slap AS on a track and leave it there it will never sound good

OK, So I tried both the Grove Clip and the percussion selections for on-line rendering.  No difference.  This has worked for me in the past (Win 7 and X1) and yes, the on-line rendering is less than transparent, but these are big pops in the sound.  It is something much louder than just some phase distortion.
