Audiosnap in Platinum malfunctioning

This has happened several times now on different tracks, so I'm posting.  After stretching a transient marker, the track plays fine up to that marker, then the track goes silent with this weird clicking noise that continues even after I've stopped playback. 
 
This is the same machine that ran X3e and this problem did not occur. 
 
The workaround I am having to use is to Freeze and Un-freeze and Freeze and Un-freeze the track until I am done fixing sloppy playing on that track.  Then I bounce to clip.  Pain.
