Audiosnap markers only selectable one at a time - Fix
This is meant to be a helpful post for anybody having this issue with Audiosnap (SONAR X1d). I was having a problem where instead of the usual ability to click and drag in order to select multiple Audiosnap markers, I was only able to select one at a time. Also, when trying to align two tracks, I could 'box' and select markers from one track, but not the other. This cost me a good deal of time in large project editing.
Here's what I was doing wrong:
I recorded two alternate takes of one track, and stored each 'double' within its own track layer. Every track within the project was therefore really two tracks, one on top of the other.
When editing and preparing to bounce out to pitch correction, I would clone each track, delete the redundant material, and turn off track layers. This produced two separate tracks, each with one of the two doubled takes. I would then try to edit with Audiosnap. I would be able to group select all of the markers from the top double, but only one at a time from the bottom. This became nightmarish when those extra "phantom" markers would show up, (the filled-in white diamonds that indicate the track had already been rendered once) and I had to delete them one at a time.
As it turns out, just turning off track layers was not the right way to go about easily arranging my tracks. Instead, I needed to actually delete all empty layers in each track after splitting them up. Doing so made the group selection function as intended.
I do not know why Audiosnap functions this way - perhaps it is done to indicate that there *may* be additional material in other track layers, and you don't want to accidentally time-stretch that along with your chosen layer. Or, it could just be a bug. Either way, this didn't occur to me, and gave me a good deal of trouble. I'd love if this functionality were more clear. If it is stated in some manual somewhere, I'd also like to see that. Perhaps this will help one person out there though.
