Aural Exciter Type C2 With Big Bottom Model 104 - any good?

 
Just bought a used one on eBay - should arrive sometime next week.
 
Does anyone know anything about it?

    I have one. I used to use it in my dj rig and it worked great. Now it just sits around collecting dust.

    I remember when they first came out,,, the Outlaws used it while recording and mastering one of their albums and mentioned it on the cover in the album notes......

    thats the extent of my knowledge about the aural exciter.... Now days I use Ozone and call it a day... but old hardware is always cool stuff especially when you can get it at a decent price.

    Never had a big bottom version but I did have one back in my analogue days.

    Mebee I did not know how to use it correctly but it seemed like I ruined things more than making them betterer. YMMV mate.

    Wouldn't it be better if they were there naturally?

    BBE explains in details over my head about how they
    don't add them but somehow restore them with their process.
    I know I like it (BBE) when used very lightly in some of my recordings.
    I recommended the unit to a performing friend and he has been
    using it for his guitar for a few years...loves it.
