Auto Crossfade Not Working

Hi everyone,
Anyone have any idea why my Autocrossfade is NOT autocrossfading?
It's selected in the Options list of the track view module, but when I drop overlapping clips onto each other, it does not put the crossfade between them.

    Does the cross fade appear if, after dropping on on top of the other, you slip edit one slightly?  I have seen this at times but if I move one of the clip edges slightly they show up.  Not idea but was a work around for me.

    is "blend old with new" still checked under the Editing Options in Preferences?
     
    Had that accidentally become unchecked and it drove me nuts trying to figure out what had happened....behavior was as you describe.
