Automating midi patch changes in X2

Can somebody point me in the right direction, I have a midi track that I would like to automate patch changes for, and I realized that I have no idea how to do it.

Thanks as always,

Eric

With the song position cursor at the spot you want to change a patch, from the "Insert" menu, "Bank/Patch Change".

You can also hit the Insert key on your keyboard in the Event list view to create a copy of the current event, and then change the type to Patch and double-click the parameters to choose bank change method and bank/patch.

But be aware that no all soft synths respond to program change messages. In that case, you can just add a second instance of the synth to play a different patch. Even for synths that *do* support program change messages, that's often the easier way to add another sound to a project with non-multitimbral synths.
