Automation Bug?

 OK, This is ****ed. I bounced/froze all the tracks in a project so I could export a WAV and then an mp3. I needed to delete the blank two bars at the first of the song—these are just bars for MIDI set-up, etc. All was fine when I cut the two bars and marked Delete Hole, except the fader automation ended up in the wrong place, so the faders now move two bars too late in every case. This is stupid. How should I do this in the future so I can remove the blank bars without screwing up my automation? Second question, how does one slide automation? Of course, I saved my original file, but this is dumb.
