Automation Envelope delay (in reaction time not the delay effect)

Hey everybody - I was hoping you could help me out...

I did a lot of forum reading to try to make sure I wasn't posting something common so forgive me if this has been beaten to death.

I'm having a problem with some automation envelopes.  I'm using them to automate some parameters in kontakt 5 (volume, panning, tuning, etc...).  They should be assigned correctly because they're behaving properly - except for the timing.

I'm having a problem where the envelope changes are delayed in the file it mixes down to, so the actual parameter change will happen a little after - say - the verse kicking in.  It last for about a second - but if you're talking about tuning, that will really throw things off.  The strange part is that it will sound fine when listening to it in Sonar - it's just after I've converted it and I'm listening to the MP3 file that it happens.   This gave me the frustration of converting, then going back and trying to fix, then converting again to see if it worked, etc...

Has anybody had this problem and maybe can tell me what I'm doing wrong, or if there's a work around?

Thanks in advance for the help!

If the error is exactly one measure. I'd say this might be another manifestation of the various metronome count-in problems that have been reported, but if it was that hard to nail down, it probably wasn't exactly one measure. If it seems unpredictable, it might be a MIDI buffering issue. This isn't usually as much of an issue for offline rendering, but you might try raising your Prepare Using buffer in Preferences > MIDI > Playback and Recording. If it's under 500ms, start there.  If it's at 500, increase in increments of 100 up to 1000, and see if that helps.

And, of course, if you can't reproduce the problem with a synth other than Kontakt, you might want to run it by the Kontakt forum.
