Automation creating plugins

Just wondering if there were any interesting plugins which can draw automation in sonar. Be it analysis plugin or whatever...

I don't have it but if I remember correctly, I read once that Waves Vocal Rider and Bass Rider will write automation...

I don't think a plugin can actually draw automation in Sonar (unless someone would like to set me straight). There are however a ton of plugins which can modulate the things that you'd normally draw automation for, like volume and panning. For instance Guitar Rig has a number of modulation sources (LFO, step sequencer, envelope generator) which can be used to modulate any control on any Guitar Rig effect. Well worth getting to know how to use these if you have GR.

There are tons of free auto-panners and suchlike out there as well.

+1 for Hornet's Autogain pro. It will write automation, and it's very affordable.

Blue Cat has at least one plugin that will generate volume automation, part of the dynamics collection, IIRC.

And there's Cakewalk Analyst, which can generate automation envelopes based on spectrum analysis.

Great stuff - I wonder if someone hasn't thought of something really cool in order to analyse and write all matter of automation data..

    Blue Cat's DP Meter Pro
    http://www.bluecataudio.com/Products/Product_DPeakMeterPro/

    Among it's features...
    • Record measurements (peak, RMS, crest factor, clip etc.) as automation curves.
    • Manage the shape of the output envelope: record reversed envelope, change amount of signal, and offset the generated envelope. This lets you use the plug-in for side chain ducking, compression and much more.

Yeh, that's the one I was trying to think of. It was fun but not as practical as I'd hoped for. IIRC it did not allow me to change node density, requiring manual thinning.
